The Importance of Regular School Attendance

Regular school attendance is essential for student success. Families, staff, and the broader community must work together to ensure students attend school daily. At LHTSD, the goal is for students to be present at least 97% of the time. Prioritizing regular attendance helps students develop responsibility and stay on track with their learning. Good attendance habits, especially when formed early, can lead to success not only in school but also in future careers. When students miss school, they miss valuable instructional time, active learning, and participation, which can cause them to fall behind or even increase their risk of dropping out.
