Over 130 Long Hill students took to the stage this Friday, January 25th, in the eighth annual PTO sponsored “Long Hill’s Got Talent” show.  Performing for a full house at WHRHS in thirty-three unique acts, dancers, singers, pianists, violinists, violists, drummers, comedians, ventriloquists, and athletes wowed the crowd.

Long Hill’s Got Talent brings the community together to celebrate students as they showcase a different side of themselves, their special talents.  Highlights of the evening included a knock-out tribute to the bravery and strength of two Long Hill fourth graders, the amazing footwork of soccer freestyler, a beautiful Love Song rendition, the comedy of Long Hill’s Jokesters, and a clever ventriloquist act.

Dance and acro highlights included a hungry shark family, the Greatest ShoWomen, dancing trolls, 80’s inspired Footloose fifth graders, High Hopes and high level gymnastics, All-American softball players, Long Hill base-ballers, Fortnite and tutu skirts, Acrohammers, Rays of Sunshine, a Lion King tap dance, a duo of gymnastics to My Boyfriend’s Back, a gymnastics act that made our hand clap, a Pitch-Perfect dance medley, and an impersonation of the Schuyler Sisters from Hamilton.  Musical performances included wonderful pianists, singers, a drummer, a violinist, and a violist playing a range of music from Beethoven, Joplin, Gruber, and Mier to Journey and Survivor, to Disney and holiday favorites.

Sara Rossi, PTO event organizer, praised the students’ “awesome talent on and off the stage.”  Numerous volunteers helped make the night a success - on the talent show committee, behind the scenes, at the concession tables. Parents Tina Osmond and Matt DiGorgio emceed the event for the third year. Central Middle School volunteered as ushers.

In addition to family and friends, the Long Hill teachers came out to see their students in the spotlight.  Student performers left the evening animated and proud, many of them exclaiming, “I saw my teacher!” excitedly to each other.

After weeks of planning, preparing, and practicing, Long Hill’s Got Talent was clearly a night to remember.
