Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2011–2012 school year! My name is Patrick Golub, and I will be teaching your fifth grade child this year. This is my eighth year at Millington School. As a former alumnus of Millington School, it is an honor to teach here and help provide your child with the same quality of education I received. I have really enjoyed working in the supportive environment of the Long Hill community, and I am confident that we can make this school year a success.
I am looking forward to a very successful year, and have high expectations for your child. I will be doing all that I can to help your child achieve, while he/she makes a commitment to the learning process.
In essence, I truly love teaching and I am very excited that I will be able to share this upcoming year with your fifth grade child. I look forward to meeting all of you soon. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at: pgolub(at)longhill(dot)org.
Regards,
Parents: Please make sure that your child is delivering their tests/quizzes to you (to get signed and returned to me) about every few weeks (in order to keep informed about his/her general performance for the marking period). If a student has a total grade-point average of 75% or lower (only) by the middle of the marking period, a progress report will be sent home to get signed and returned.
Every student was given a science book to keep at home for the entire year.
Remember: if you don't have an assignment complete and in on time it is a zero.
Then, you have one day to make up the work to get a 70%. If you don't make up the work, the grade stays a zero. Students who were absent will get extra time to make up any missed work (without negatively affecting their grade).
