Reasons why a student may want to speak with Mrs. Puleo (and many other reasons):
- "My best friend isn't talking to me and it's making me really sad."
- "I'm getting bullied on the bus and I don't know what to do about it."
- "I'm new to this school, and I'm really scared!"
- "When am I going to get to be in a Lunch Bunch Group?"
- "I just want to talk to someone who won't laugh at me."
- "I did a lot better on my last math test, and I'm so excited to tell someone!"
- "Tim, Samantha and I had a problem at recess. Can you help us work it out?"
- “My dog died and I am very sad.”
- “My parents got divorced and I can’t concentrate in class because it is always on my mind.”
GROUP & INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING:
There are a variety of small groups that meet during lunch time including changing family support groups, social skills groups, and even a "grab bag" guidance group that discusses a number of issues including organization, anger management, worrying, school attendance, stress, sibling issues, etc. These groups are run on an as needed basis throughout the year. I am also available to meet with any student on an individual basis if needed.
