Dear Parents,
We enjoyed our Groundhog Day activities today! The students made cute little groundhogs that could peek out of their burrows.
We will be sending home monthly journals that will include student writing, drawings and a calendar. In January, the topics included holiday traditions, self -drawings and Teddy Bear animals.
MATH- Our new unit will be about time and money. In one of our centers on Friday, the girls and boys will draw what they like to do at different times of the day.
COMPUTER LAB-On Tuesday, a new website was introduced to the classes. Everyone is looking forward to using it in our computer center. It is pigeonpresents.com.
TUESDAY LITERACY STATIONS- The listening station group listened to the book The Monster Pet. “Shake a Word” used egg cartons with sight words in them. In the “Pencil, Pen, Crayon and Marker” station, students read and then wrote words using different writing implements.
MYSTERY READERS- Samantha’s Mom, Mrs. Brown (AM) kept us calm as she read books about meditation. Whitney’s Mom, Mrs. Donohoe (PM) read some of Whitney’s favorite books.
The students will be creating Valentines for Veterans on Friday.
This past week, the boys and girls decorated valentine mails bags. Students are welcome to bring in valentines for classmates. They will deliver them by matching the name on the envelope to the name on the valentine bag.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MAYA (PM)!!!!!!
Have a super weekend!
Sincerely,
Meg Magee
and the students from Room 10
